In Remembrance of Recent Fallen Officers

In the US, police deaths by gun are already up 100% from last year. We will display the badges for all fallen officers in Colorado in respect for their sacrifice on or off duty.

The ETSA (Emergency Telephone Service Association)  of La Plata County has launched a new emergency notification system. This system will be used by your local emergency response team in the event of emergency situations or critical community alerts, throughout La Plata County.  Examples include: evacuation notices, bio-terrorism alerts, boil water notices, and missing child reports. Enrolling allows you to register your cell phone, VoIP phone, or unregistered phone number to your address.  You will receive alerts when an event occurs in your area. You can opt into the system here: https://public.coderedweb.com/CNE/BFEA18547A8D

Safety tips

If you see a neighbor or are aware of someone setting illegal fireworks off throughout the summer, be sure to call La Plata County and Bayfield Town dispatch at 970-385-2900. We want to prevent injuries and fires that come with the improper use of fireworks.

Bayfield Marshal's had a great time with their booth on 4th of July!

In light of recent events across the country, our agency can't thank the community enough for all of the support. These kind ladies pictured made a point to heal us with a gift of pies for each officer and their family.

While might be easy to point the finger at policemen, we are blessed to have such an open and supportive relationship between the police and citizens of Bayfield.
