Bayfield Marshal's Office Scholarship Fund
Each year the Bayfield Marshal's Office awards a scholarship to one Bayfield High School graduating senior who plans on seeking a career in public service. We raise money for this scholarship by selling the attached back-the-blue items all year long. We currently have the following items: Bracelets : $5.00 3' x 5' Flags: $30.00 Adult T-Shirts: $20.00 Youth T-shirts: $15.00 Stickers: $3.00 each. The ETSA (Emergency Telephone Service Association) of La Plata County has launched a new emergency notification system. This system will be used by your local emergency response team in the event of emergency situations or critical community alerts, throughout La Plata County. Examples include: evacuation notices, bio-terrorism alerts, boil water notices, and missing child reports. Enrolling allows you to register your cell phone, VoIP phone, or unregistered phone number to your address. You will receive alerts when an event occurs in your area. Bayfield Marshal's Office Partners with Nextdoor, the Private Social Network for Neighborhoods!
This allows our agency to communicate online with Bayfield neighborhoods which allows us to be able to share helpful information such as important crime alerts, emergency notifications, safety precautions & updates on activity affecting the local area. The mission of Durango La Plata Crime Stoppers is a community effort to assist law enforcement in the apprehension of criminals. Their mission is accomplished through giving cash rewards to individuals who contact their tip line with information that leads to an arrest. People who call with tips enjoy strict anonymity. SCHOOL RESOURCE PROGRAM
The Bayfield Marshal's Office is now officially apart of the Colorado Household Medication Take-back Program! In accordance with the Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment, our office now has a convenient drop box for all of your unused prescription and over-the-counter medications.
By using our free drop off box you will help us to keep harmful drugs from being easily accessed by children or prescription drug abusers!

Badges Against Breast Cancer
For many years the Bayfield Marshal's Office has been raising money in support of the Susan G. Komen foundation and it's mission to raise money to help fund breast cancer research. Since 2016 we have also been hosting a 5k race. Thanks to our community we have raised thousands of dollars for this cause.
